Fresh Fruit and Vegetables
This year we grew our own apples and cherries. We also grew some of our own vegetables, including runner beans, marrows, courgettes, celeriac and pumpkins. We hope to expand our home grown produce in the New Year.
We have a wide variety of locally sourced fruit and vegetables from surrounding farmers who supply us with seasonal produce including:
Fruit: apples, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, plums, gooseberries and pears
Vegetables: carrots, cauliflowers, Romanesco, parsnips, sprouts, cabbage, butternut squash, leeks, watercress, cucumbers, herbs, peppers and so much more!
Fresh Bread and Homemade Cakes
Our bread is freshly baked every day on the premises, from baguettes to seeded loaves. There is also a yummy selection of cakes, from carrot, chocolate and lemon drizzle cakes - just a few of our favourites - as well as homemade cheese and fruit scones or delicious apple pie as a winter warmer.
Cheese
We have a wide variety of cheeses in our deli from local Kent Cheese Makers, such as blue, goat's and smoked cheese from Ashmore Cheese at Lamberhurst Farm in Dargate, Braebourne Cheese, from Penstock Hall Farm near Ashford, with Chaucer's Choice Brie, Kentish Crown and goat's cheese, as well as a varied choice of international cheeses to try.
Fresh meat
Our chillers are stocked with a fine selection of fresh free range meat, including chicken, bacon, sausages, joints and hams all supplied locally, as well as pheasant, rabbit and venison from Godmersham Game.
Fish
Fresh Fish Friday has become a real feature! Come and meet the friendly, knowledgeable staff from Octopussy, a family run business that catches their own fish daily. Get your fresh fish and seafood here!
Free Range Eggs
We have five Khaki Campbell ducks that lay every day. Duck eggs have a slightly stronger taste than hen's eggs but are well worth trying and excellent for baking! Hen and quail eggs are delivered fresh from Banks Farm in Ashford.
Olive Bar and Oil and Vinegar Station
We have a delicious and varied selection of fresh olives, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto and char-grilled artichoke hearts, as well as a state of the art Oil and Vinegar Station. Reuse your old bottles or choose one of our stylishly different bottles and fill up from our range of virgin olive oils and eclectic vinegars.
Local Drink Producers
We have a select range of local wines and cider from Biddenden near Ashford and Whitstable Brewery beers, including Oyster Stout, Wheat Beer, Pilsner and Raspberry Beer. We also stock Core Apple Juice's amazing variety of refreshing apple juices, mixes, Core Pear Juice and cider.
